He has an educational background and real-world experience in private equity, real estate development, real estate law, construction, small business management, and commercial property ownership. Background and Experience
After undergraduate school at University of Puget Sound, Chip cut his teeth in the world of real estate development and private equity placement at Spring Capital Group in Eugene, OR. Fast forward to joint degrees in law at the University of Colorado School of Law and an M.B.A. at CU’s Real Estate Learning Center. After which Chip practiced real estate law for a large firm working on lease transactions for Trammel Crow and purchase agreements for D.R. Horton, among others.
Moving back to Eugene, Chip began consulting on development projects for Rainbow Valley Design and Construction where he became a partner and ultimately the general manager. There he managed all aspects of the 50-employee design-build company along with side ventures in campus residential housing and office/industrial management and leasing.
Chip has worn the shoes of a real estate investor, attorney, property manager, general contractor and small business owner. Couple that practical experience with diligent problem-solving skills, an affable personality, and a genuine desire to form long-lasting relationships and mutually beneficial transactions, and you have an exceptional partner for any commercial real estate transaction you encounter.
Personal
Chip grew up in Eugene and is committed to the betterment of the community. Since 2012 he has been on the board of the Eugene Family YMCA, serving as board chair as the YMCA negotiated COVID while running a $48M capital campaign for the new YMCA facility at 24th and Hilyard.
Chip also serves as Chief Operating Husband at his wife’s veterinary clinic, Healing Paws Wellness Center, which translates as bookkeeping, payroll and fixing things. Chip and Elise have an active middle-school age son, Ole, three cats and two dogs. He often finds himself coaching sports he has no business coaching including hockey, Kidsport’s lacrosse and O’Hara track.
As a family Chip, Elise and Ole love skiing, camping and spending time in Yachats.
